My fundraiser for Sussex Cancer Fund

London Edinburgh London 2025 · 3 August 2025
I've previously worked on two events with the SCF, raising money for them. I decided that the London Edinburgh London cycle event would help bring together members of the cycling community who have been affected by cancer. I can also raise money for a charity that you may not have necessarily heard of yet may well have helped someone you know with cancer.
We need to work harder together to support our local charities in the UK, and with 346,217 cases in the UK* being diagnosed with cancer just in 2022, every pound coin we can channel into the great work the SCF does count and makes a huge difference, not only in the future outcome of beating this disease but also treating those with cancer now and supporting their families.
The Sussex Cancer Fund works with the NHS to create new and improved facilities for cancer care in Sussex, including purchasing specialist equipment, providing additional patient services, refurbishment projects and funding cancer research studies.
It is likely that every Cancer Patient in Sussex will have benefitted from something the Sussex Cancer Fund has provided.
London Edinburgh London is a 1530 kilometres (950 miles) self-supported cycle ride across the United Kingdom. The route takes you between the iconic capital cities of England and Scotland.
London Edinburgh London is not a race, but you have a maximum of around 128 hours to cycle along the route up to Edinburgh and then back to London.
I own a small marketing agency called Phoenix Marketing, and I have been lucky enough to get some sponsors on board to help me with some of the kit needed for such an event. Dolphins Optometrists have kindly supplied me with a rather dashing pair of prescription eyewear for the event, SKS in Germany have provided some bike kit. The Well-Balanced Centre (Physiotherapy) will be supporting me throughout the event.
If you would like to get involved, there are a few items that would really help me achieve this goal so please do contact me through my Insta page cycling_after_50
Lastly, a big thank you for your support and generosity; I keep regular training and events posts on my Instagram page also.
