I am running the London Marathon 2026 to raise money in loving memory of our beloved Grandad, Dad and Husband, Alex Gordon, who sadly passed away from pulmonary fibrosis — a devastating condition for which there is currently no cure.

Grandad was the heart of our family: kind, strong, and always putting others before himself. He faced his illness with incredible courage and dignity, even as it slowly took more from him. Watching someone you love battle a condition with no effective treatment is heartbreaking, and it has shown us just how urgently more research, awareness, and support are needed.

By donating, you are helping to fund vital research into pulmonary fibrosis, giving hope to families who may one day be spared the pain we have experienced. Every contribution, no matter how small, means the world to us and helps honour Grandad’s memory in a way that truly reflects the love and warmth he gave to everyone around him.

Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis (APF) is a growing community of patients, families, researchers and healthcare professionals striving to find a cure for pulmonary fibrosis so that everyone affected by the disease has a better future. We provide personalised support to patient and families - and raise awareness of pulmonary fibrosis through campaigning, fundraising and education. We are also committed to funding research to improve the quality of life for people living with pulmonary fibrosis today and tomorrow.
