LO CHUN WAH, father of me and my brother Brian, had been passed away in July 11, 2000 with the age of 61 due to lung cancer. Year 2025 comes 25 Years after his passing.

Knowing that cancer had taken away my father's life and some of my dearest friend's lives in recent years (one of them was marathoner and university classmate Victor Lee Wai Bun), and these tragedies had affected me and families of cancer patients, I am sure that sufficient fund for researching of cancer fighting technologies and researches are essential to saving and extending lives of cancer patients and to detect potential cancer patients at the early stage.

Such battle on fighting cancer cannot be coped without the amazing support of charities like the ICR (The Institute of Cancer Research) who work everyday to study, develop and promote newest cancer fighting skills and technlogies.

我和大哥Brian的家父勞春華弟兄，於2000年7月11日因肺癌離世，終年61歲。2025年是他離世25周年紀念。

深知癌症當日奪去我父親的性命，而且近數年來相繼有好友因癌症離世，這些不幸的生命離逝，影響了我家庭和其他癌症病人的家庭。故此，對抗癌症，刻不容緩！

我深信，有足夠的經費支持，研發抗癌科技及癌症治療，以拯救及延長癌症病人的生命，及盡快查出早期癌症患者，是十分重要的。而抗癌及相關的科研工作，若沒有如 ICR（癌症研究院）每日從事研究、研發及推廣最新抗癌科技及技術，也不可能成功。

位於英國倫敦的「癌症研究院」(Institute of Cancer Research, ICR) （英國倫敦大學成員），是世界權威的癌症研究機構，多年來為抗癌研究及推廣最新治療技術而不斷努力。作為皇家馬斯登醫院的一部份，成立於1909年，2003年加入倫敦大學。包括癌症成因是DNA破壞等許多癌症理論都出自該大學的研究。造成遺傳性癌症的基因BRCA2（與乳腺癌、卵巢癌以及前列腺癌都有關係）就是源自ICR的研究成果，「香港遺傳性乳癌家族資料庫」的成立（首個及唯一在香港設立的遺傳性乳癌基因樣本及臨床生物數據資料庫），也是因為該項研究所賜。
