London Marathon 2024 · 21 April 2024 ·

Malala Fund is working for a world where all girls can learn and lead without fear. Malala and Ziauddin Yousafzai founded Malala Fund in 2013 to champion every girl’s right to 12 years of free, safe, quality education.

Story

When I got a place for the London marathon, I told myself "I'll either go for a personal best aiming for sub 4 hours, or I'll do it in costume"

Training has not gone well so option 1 is out of the window. Haven't done a run longer than a half marathon since September due to injury

SO costume it is!

My first thought was an inflatable dinosaur costume. We did a test try of this at parkrun a few weeks ago, but it did not last 2km, let alone 42km. Photos in gallery above

Then a pineapple seemed fun

The event will take place on Sunday 21st April, if anyone is free and wants to cheer me on, I'll be running through London in a big pineapple costume. Bib number 23619, start time 11am, route map in gallery above.

Why Malala Fund?
