The foundation ensures that Maasai children who would otherwise not attend school receive a valuable primary education at Building Hope Academy and supports onward education to good high schools and universities. We aim to ensure young girls receive a good education and are kept safe from FGM.

Story

We (Stephen, Nicola and Sarah) will be walking the Grand Union Canal for 137 miles from London to Birmingham this month. The journey will take 7 days. We aim to raise £1 for every mile we each walk.

We’d love people to join us on sections of our journey. The miles you walk will be added to our fundraising target.

Our itinerary with rough distances (and actual total distance walked in brackets) was:-

Sun 27 Aug, Paddington Basin to Uxbridge - 16 miles (18.2)

Mon 28 Aug, Uxbridge to Tring - 23 miles (28.8)

Tues 29 Aug, Tring to Milton Keynes - 22 miles (23.5)

Wed 30 Aug, Milton Keynes to Blisworth - 17 miles (19.3)

Thur 31 Aug, Blisworth to Southam - 22 miles (24)

Fri 1 Sep, Southam to Hatton - 15 miles (17)

Sat 2 Sep, Hatton to Gas Street Basin - 22 miles (23.9)

Total miles walked was 154.7.

Message us if you want a more detailed itinerary with our camping spots.

All moneys raised will go into the fund to build 2 new classrooms at Building Hope Academy. Check out our new website at www.friendsofnairoshi.co.uk
