Story
From London to Malmö – Every Mile Has a Meaning
Some journeys begin with a single step.Mine began in London.
I was born there and spent the first 21 years of my life in one of the world's greatest cities. Then, completely unexpectedly, everything changed. I met a Swedish woman while she was visiting London. Six months later, I packed my bags, left my family behind, and moved to Malmö to start a new life.
It turned out to be the best decision I ever made.
Thirty-seven years later, we're still together and proud parents of two wonderful children. My family remains in London, while my home is now in Malmö. These two cities represent my past and my present—my roots and my future. Both will always have a special place in my heart.
That's why I've chosen to run my first ever marathons in the two cities that have shaped my life.
On 3 October 2026, I'll take on the Malmö Marathon.
In April 2027, I'll cross the start line of the London Marathon.
Together, they'll be far more than just 52.4 miles. They'll be a journey between two places that mean everything to me.
But this challenge isn't only about me.
I'm running to raise funds for CCLG – Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group, a charity that works tirelessly to improve treatment, fund life-saving research, and support children, young people, and their families through the unimaginable challenge of cancer.
Training for two marathons will be one of the toughest physical challenges I've ever faced. There will undoubtedly be days when the weather is against me, when motivation is low, and when my legs would rather stop than keep going.
But those moments are temporary.
The challenges faced by children living with cancer and the families who support them are far greater than anything I'll experience on race day.
If my running can help fund research, provide support, and offer hope to even one family, then every early morning run, every blister, and every mile will be worth it.
My fundraising goal is £2,200, and I'd be incredibly grateful for your support.
Whether you can donate a little or a lot, every contribution will make a real difference. And if you're unable to donate, simply sharing this page or cheering me on will mean more than you know.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
I hope you'll join me as I run from Malmö to London—not just to finish two marathons, but to help give children with cancer and their families hope for a brighter future.
Every mile has a meaning.
Every donation makes a difference.
Thank you for your support.
