Why am I raising money for Loneliness Awareness week?

85% of UK adults have experienced loneliness in the last 12 months. Almost half (44%) have felt chronically lonely too!

I want to support the incredible work that Marmalade Trust do! They're an award-winning charity dedicated to raising awareness of loneliness and empowering people to make connections. A value that aligns so deeply with Be Dating Beautiful.

By talking about loneliness openly and meeting it together, we can reduce stigma and build more compassionate, connected communities.

Meet Me in the Park Picnic, Hertford

What better way to celebrate the longest day of the year than outdoors, surrounded by a friendly, welcoming group?

📍 Saturday 20th June, Hartham Common

⏰ Drop in from 3:30pm – stay as long as you like (until around 7:30/8pm)

Expect:

- Easy, natural conversation (no forced activities)

- Optional games like rounders

- Giant garden games (including Kerplunk!)

- Free cake (until it’s gone 😉)

- A relaxed, social atmosphere

Bring a picnic, a drink, and settle in.

Whether you fancy joining in, watching from the sidelines, or just meeting a few new faces, this is a happy space.
