Story
At the heart of my work with the UK Sepsis Trust lies a powerful truth: fundraising is not just about raising money; it’s about saving lives.
On February 18, 2025, I will be taking on the exhilarating challenge of the new Zipwire at St Andrews Lakes in Halling, Kent. This personal challenge is more than just an adventure; it’s a commitment to raise awareness about sepsis and its devastating impact. Every year, thousands of individuals and families are affected by this condition. Tens of thousands die in the UK each year. 250,000 are affected each year - many get through it relatively unscathed; others, although physically only lightly affected, may suffer long-term 'brain fog' and fatigue.
Some, like myself suffer life-changing limb loss requiring long-term rehabilitation.
By participating in this event, I aim to spark conversations that lead to understanding and prevention. I am also funding vital support work that includes public awareness campaigns, educating health professionals, and providing resources for those adjusting to life after sepsis through the UK Sepsis Trust Support Group network.
Together, we can advocate for change to ensure that sepsis receives the attention it deserves within our healthcare system. Your support can make a significant difference in this fight against sepsis. Join me in this journey; let’s turn awareness into action and save lives together!
