100km Trek in the Sahara Desert for Aurora Breast Cancer Well-Being.

100km across the Sahara Desert! · 25 October 2025
Another slightly bonkers challenge - 100km in the Sahara Desert!
This time I am raising money for a charity that is very close to my heart, Aurora and Aurora Gems.
Aurora is a compassionate breast cancer charity dedicated to empowering and supporting young pre-menopausal women affected by breast cancer. They have created a positive network of women to support each other within Wiltshire and Gloucestershire through the challenges of a breast cancer diagnosis, treatment and recovery journey beyond. Aurora Gems is an extension of this amazing charity that supports women living with secondary breast cancer.
The support that Aurora provided me following my own diagnosis was huge! From my first meeting with Nic, 3m apart in the co-op carpark (thanks covid), to evenings out, wellbeing days and monthly coffee mornings. Having people my own age who are experiencing the same and also seeing women who had been through it, but were ok, made such a difference to what was a really traumatic time. I will be forever grateful for Aurora and extremely grateful that I am well enough to take on this challenge to give something back.
So what will I be doing.....
Passing through Morocco’s forbidding landscape punctuated by peaks, gorges, dunes and oases. This challenge goes beyond the Jebel Saghro region, starting on the Maider El Kbir plateau, before ascending Jebel El Mrakib. Walking through palm gorges, the route joins the dry Rhris River and heads towards an oasis of tamarisk trees. The final days are spent trekking along the Tikertouachene River!
OMG!
Please support me in anyway you can.
Thank you in advance.
