George's Giants Leading The Fight Against Duchenne

Story

On September 29th, Liv and I will run the Robin Hood Half Marathon in Nottingham to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy UK and my amazing cousin George.

George was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy just before his 4th birthday. Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is a life-changing muscle-wasting condition, for which there currently is no cure.

The impact of George's diagnosis on him, his parents and the rest of his wider family is unfathomable. Everyone has taken George's diagnosis with great strength and grace, and his family want to ensure that we look for the positives and fill George's life with love, fun and activity.

We are honoured to be one of George's Giants and help raise money for Muscular Dystrophy UK and George himself.

80% of the funds will go to Muscular Dystrophy UK research, with the remaining 20% held in trust to support George in the future. By fundraising for Muscular Dystrophy UK, we are helping to fund world-class research into effective treatments, and life changing support for the 110,000 people in the UK living with a muscle-wasting condition.

We have never ran a half marathon before, and have just started our training. We hope to raise as much money as possible for vital research, which will hopefully find a cure for this terrible and heart-breaking disease.

Thank you SO much for anything you can give, any donations are greatly appreciated. We will let you know how we get on!

Love you George, let's do this!
