Story

Thames Hospice didn’t just care for our dad with love, dignity and compassion — they cared for who he was. They made sure he could keep enjoying the things that brought him comfort and joy, even in those final weeks. Whether it was watching Arsenal, snacking on Pom Bears or sipping Dr Pepper, they helped him stay him, and that meant the world to us.

They gave us time - real, gentle, precious time - to sit with him, laugh with him, hold his hand and make memories we’ll carry for the rest of our lives. From the very first home visit to his final moments, their kindness never faltered. We will always be grateful for the way they looked after Dad, and for the way they held us up as a family when we needed it most.

We’re taking part in the Thames Hospice Sunflower Walk in memory of our wonderful Dad and Grandad, Ian Bryant, who we lost in February. Thames Hospice gave us moments with him that felt like gifts - small, ordinary moments that became extraordinary because they were ours, and because they were his last. We will cherish them forever ❤️

Every donation truly makes a difference:

💚 £12 could pay for a patient’s medication for a day

💚 £25 could pay for an assisted bath, helping a patient to relax

💚 £57 could pay for a bereavement call to support a family member

Thames Hospice is there to make sure patients and families are cared for with compassion, dignity and respect. Every penny raised through the Sunflower Walk helps them continue providing this incredible care to people in our local community — now, and in the future.

Thank you for helping us honour Dad’s memory, and for supporting a place that gave us comfort, laughter, and love when we needed it most 💛
