Lorraine Cooley is raising money for Avalon Parental Support and Respite Services

Glasgow Kiltwalk 2025 · 26 April 2025 to 27 April 2025 ·

Avalon was set up following the Autism diagnosis of our daughter Ava in 2015. We provide access to family respite services and access to therapies for children to enable them to reach their potential. Our aim is to help children thrive and to strengthen the familiy unit to keep families together.

Story

We are excited to share that we will be participating in this year’s Glasgow Kiltwalk on Sunday, 27th April 2025. We are taking on The Mighty Stride, a challenging 23-mile walk from Glasgow to Loch Lomond, all in support of Avalon Autism Parental Support and Respite Services. This charity holds a special place in our hearts as they provide fully funded, essential support to neurodivergent families like ours.

Avalon’s work is vital; they create opportunities for neurodivergent children to bond and have fun with their siblings in a safe environment through family connection events. These moments of joy and connection are invaluable for families navigating the challenges of autism. We believe that every child deserves the chance to thrive and feel included.

We would love Avalon continue their incredible work, we aim to raise £1,000 towards these important events.
