Story
For the second year, I’ll be going behind bars - this time overnight.
On 16th May 2026, I’ll be locked up at Shepton Mallet Prison, the world’s oldest working jail and once home to the infamous Kray twins, Ronnie and Reggie.
I’m taking part in Jailbreak 2026 to raise essential funds for Reminiscence Learning - a charity committed to supporting people living with dementia and the families who care for them.
This isn’t your typical fundraiser. I’ll be stepping into life on the inside - locked in a cell, stripped of comfort, suited in an orange jumpsuit, pushed through hours of controlled courtyard exercise, and forced to fight my way through an escape challenge just to earn my release.
I need to raise over £2,500 in “bail money” and that’s where you come in!
💛 Why This Matters
In 2016, I made the life-changing decision to leave my city career to care full-time for my dad during his battle with dementia.
What followed were some of the most challenging yet meaningful years of my life - navigating exhaustion, long sleepless nights, and a system that often made accessing support incredibly difficult.
Even with help, being a carer is relentless. There are no real breaks - just constant giving, love, and resilience.
That’s why this cause is so close to my heart.
I’m raising funds for Reminiscence Learning, an organisation that provides crucial support, education, and resources for those living with dementia - and for the carers who quietly carry so much.
Every donation helps make that journey a little less overwhelming for someone else.
🙌 How You Can Support
👉 Donate - every pound brings me one step closer to freedom
👉 Share - help spread the word far and wide
👉 Follow the journey - cheer me on as I attempt my escape!
We’ll be sharing live updates throughout the day via the Reminiscence Learning Facebook page - so you can follow along from “lock-up” to (hopefully) release!
Your support means everything.
Together, we can turn this challenge into real impact - helping those living with dementia feel seen, supported, and cared for.
Now… let’s get me out of here! 🔓
