Story
Hello wonderful humans 🧡
It’s that time of year... our 2023 challenge for Myeloma UK is here.
Kailem and I will be attempting to run not 1 but 2 half marathons this year. We are running the Great North Run followed by the Manchester Half Marathon a couple of weeks later.
We are running for my mother, who has been fighting Myeloma for 4 years now. Myeloma is a rare blood cancer that is still incurable – please help me change this.
We have seen first hand the impact of your donations as my mother’s treatment has adapted as new research and trials have been made available. Myeloma UK receives no funding from the government so I really need your help!
Myeloma UK are dedicated to myeloma patients, making sure they get access to the right treatment at the right time. They continually strive to improve standards of treatment and care through research, education and raising awareness of myeloma. You can find out more about their work at www.myeloma.org.uk
Anyone who is blessed enough to know Suzanne will know she is the most selfless, caring, protective mummy to all. And selfishly I want nothing but simply more time.
Every year since my mother’s diagnosis, we aim to put ourselves through something truly gruelling. And we cannot put into words how horrifically difficult and painful last year’s half marathon was – I was sick, cried 3 times and Kailem had to carry me up the final hill.
We are very aware we ask a lot of our nearest and dearest so we can not thank you enough for your love, support and donations – it really does mean the world.
We will not stop or give up… Our 2024 challenge planning is already underway (sorry Kailem).
Thank you, we love you all forever,
Love, Charlotte and Kailem x
