Story
In 2013, my Dad—Lt Col Carl Meyer—founded The Veteran's Orthopaedic Service at RJAH. Since then it has grown to be the biggest hospital-based Veteran's service in the country. It gives Veterans and their families access to high quality orthopaedic care at a national centre of excellence through a military led team, whilst also providing welfare services. I remember being a little girl and helping him design the logo, and over the last decade I have watched all the hard work that my Dad has put into the service, so this is a brilliant opportunity to do my bit too!
I will be running the York marathon with my Dad, who will be providing moral support and encouragement, this October and we would really appreciate any donations - big or small - that you are able to give towards this worthwhile charity.
Those of you that know me will know that this is an IMMENSE challenge for me. 6 months ago I barely ran 5 times a year, but have decided to challenge myself to complete hard things, and prove I am capable. The training so far has been hard, and trying to juggle working full time, running AND a social life has been completely exhausting, but hopefully heading back to student life will help with this.
It won't be quick and it won't be pretty, but I WILL complete it. :)
