Story
This year, I am running the Reading Half Marathon on behalf of Citizens Advice Reading.
This is my first half marathon ever! I never thought I would become a distance runner, but I have been drawn in by knowing how valuable Citizens Advice Reading is, and I want to do whatever I can personally to sustain this great service for years to come.
Working as an outreach adviser, I have seen our current cost of living crisis first hand, and I cannot overstate how vital services such as ours are for people at difficult times. Citizens Advice Reading helps people get back on their feet, ensuring individuals access support services they are entitled to, make sustainable plans to get out of debt, and know their legal rights and responsibilities.
Many people think that Citizens Advice is government run or government funded, as it is so well known. In fact, the opposite is true: each Citizens Advice office is a local, independent charity that relies on a combination of funding projects and donations to sustain their services.
Every pound you donate will be put towards the longevity and sustainability of our services. Thank you so much in advance for all your donations!
