The NKF is a National charity that provides support and information to patients, families and healthcare professionals affected by kidney disease. Our aim is to improve the quality of life and support kidney patients and their families as well as lobby for renal improvements.

Story

For over 45 years, the National Kidney Federation has provided an array of National patient support services and campaigned for improvements to renal provision and treatment working closely with healthcare professionals and lobby to government.

The NKF offers a National Freephone Helpline and Peer Support Service 0800 169 09 36 offering information leaflets, help and advice - with trained staff answering around 200 calls a week.

The charity supports 3.25 million people with Chronic Kidney Disease (stages 3 to 5) in the UK.

This charity has helped my family loads as my grandad and auntie have both had kidney transplants in the past from other family members and donors. This charity helped make the transplants possible and supported throughout the process. To show our support im going to run the sheffield 10k and my other family members are taking part in the transplant games with SAKA to help raise awareness for different tranplants.
