Since 1977, Michael Sobell House has offered a comforting and nurturing space for people to stay, both temporarily to gain support with symptoms, and to experience their last moments if this is their wish.

We offer twelve beds, including two cuddlebeds, for people to come and stay with us both early in an illness and in their last days and weeks of life. As with all our services, our Inpatient unit at Michael Sobell House is inclusive and welcoming and we work hard to ensure that it is safe and comfortable for everyone.

Our specialist multidisciplinary team consists of Doctors, Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Physiotherapists, Patient and Family Support, Complementary Therapists, and Spiritual Support. We also have close links with local hospitals which provide procedures such as X-Rays, scans, surgical procedures, and chemotherapy, where this is required.
