I'm raising money on behalf of my friend Kayleigh and my cousin Anna. Both were diagnosed with the same rare type of Lymphoma only a short time apart in their early twenties.

I met Kayleigh through my work as an author. She's passionate about reading and books in general, and we connected through out shared love of Romantasy books. We first interacted just after she shared her diagnosis publicly and I followed her journey treating her cancer until she finally received news her treatment was considered successful. To say 'congratulations' in a small way, I sent her copies of my books and we got chatting. We finally met earlier this year (even though she surprisingly only lived 10 minutes drive from where I grew up!).

Earlier this year, my younger cousin Anna was also diagnosed with exactly the same rare type of Lymphoma as Kayleigh. Anna is an intelligent, beautiful and bright young woman and has always maintained the most positive mindset during her cancer treatment journey which recently concluded (hopefully successfully and for the last time!). When I learnt of her diagnosis, I reached out to Kayleigh to ask for her advice, as she had only recently completed her treatment. Kayleigh and Anna also connected and Kayleigh was able so offer so much advice during such an unsettling time.

Being so young when diagnosed and both identifying as women, the diagnosis progress was lengthy and information surrounding Lymphoma is less common that other types of cancer. I want to help others get the advice, support and guidance they need during such an unsettling and scary time and, hopefully, to help people recognise the signs of blood cancer earlier.
