Hello All,

Some of you may or may not know that I have taken up cycling in a pretty big way - it was all because of some incredible men and women whom I photographed back in 2021 for a Charity called One More City,

30 Riders rode from Reading to Penzance and covered 100 miles each day for over 4 days with 1000s of feet of climbing, The weather was terrible: rain, cold and wind - the conditions making it even tougher.,

While photographing I saw such friendship, camaraderie, tears, happiness; and the determination this group shared, all united by one goal to help others; I wanted to help too but being the photographer I felt somewhat useless, I needed to be a part of something meaningful like this; and experience first hand the adventure I had always dreamed about.

Cut a long story but 18 months ago I bought my first road bike and joined a cycling club called Rapha, and ever since then I have been riding/training pretty much non-stop. I never had the fitness to begin with and have been working on that ever since, achieving many significant milestones.

So here I am today writing this to you to ask for help.

I have signed up for One More City 2023 Munich to Venice this September, I will be leaving for Munich on the 27th of September and start my journey the day after.

4 days

Day 1- Thursday 28th September

Munich - Telfs = 82 Miles 5,950 ft climbing

Day 2- Friday 29th September

Telfs - Bolzano = 100.3 Miles 8,810 ft ft climbing

Day 3- Saturday 30th September

Bolzano - Alleghe = 70.8 Miles 10,481 ft climbing

Day 4- Sunday 1st October

Alleghe - Venice = 98.8 Miles 3,952 ft climbing

Day 4.2 To Hotel = 5.6 Miles 113 ft climbing

Over 100 miles of riding each day and a total of 9000 meters of climbing,

This will be one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, I ask for your donations to help a fantastic charity and help beat Secondary breast cancer.

One More City is an annual cycling campaign that moves from city to city, starting from where the previous years ride has finished. In 2017 we rode from London to Paris in 24 hours. In 2018, we rode the 630k from Paris to Amsterdam over 3 days, and in 2019 we rode 720k from Amsterdam to Strasbourg in 4 days.

The ethos of One More City is that the journey is never over; we are always progressing towards the next city, there are always more kilometres to do, more climbs to conquer and more challenges to face. This is akin to the reality of anyone living with cancer, especially secondary cancer, for whom the challenge is never over; there are always more treatments to endure, more scans to face, more side effects to manage.
