On Sunday 12th October I will be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon in support of The Sick Children's Trust with some colleagues at Knight Frank Finance.

The SCT gives families with a seriously ill child in hospital a warm and comfortable place to stay when they need it most. The work they do is truly invaluable.

Myself and three colleagues will play our small yet direct part in supporting SCT on 16th October when we will cook for the families of Rainbow House of Great Ormond Street Hospital.

I saw the impact that "homes from home" charities can have when my younger brother was rushed to King's hospital in his early years after a brain tumor was discovered. Camberwell House (ran by a similar charity, Ronald McDonald), provided my family but especially my dad and step mum some much needed comfort and respite during the immensely stressful few days he was in hospital. My brother is now 14 years old and clear, which is the good news!
