The UK’s biggest and best children’s running event will take place on Saturday 6th of September 2025, in Newcastle.

We Louis, Maxi and Hendrix (13,11 & 7 years old) will be participating in The Junior and Mini Great North Run to raise funds for FRIENDS OF COLOMBIA FOR SOCIAL AID (Registered Charity # 274778), to help disadvantaged children in Colombia to receive treatment with up to date medical equipment.

Two years ago we ran The Junior Great North Run for the first time and were very pleased to raise over £2,000 to allow FOCSA to donate a Vital Signs Monitor to Hospital Infantil San Juan de Dios in Bogotá. Last year we visited the hospital to see the equipment being used in the Surgical Ward.

This experience was very rewarding, that is why we decided to run again this year, to raise funds to donate a much needed Tilt Table for Electrophysiology and Blood Pressure Monitoring, along with other complementary devices to Fundación Pequeňo Corazón in Manizales. This equipment would help to diagnose and follow up around 7,000 children every year.

Fundación Pequeňo Corazón mission is to support disadvantaged children and young people who suffer from congenital heart conditions or related diseases. It also works on the prevention of such conditions.
