Story
This September, I’m taking on the British Heart Foundation Off-Road London to Brighton bike ride 🚴♂️
This is a tough one day 66-mile off-road challenge, this time it's for a cause close to my heart.
My Personal Story:
Heart disease runs in my family, affecting my Husband John, my Mum, Dad and other family members, and it has also impacted us very recently.
Last year, both my mum and John were hospitalised due to heart conditions.
At the end of the year, John suffered a stroke and spent the first month of this year in hospital being cared for by the stroke team. His recovery is still being managed by the stroke team and cardiology specialists, and he is on the road to recovery.
Last year, I cycled the South Downs Way, so I understand just how tough this kind of terrain can be—especially covering 66 miles in one day. I’ll be using my lightweight electric mountain bike, which, if I’m lucky, will assist me for around 20 miles on this terrain.
Seeing the impact of heart and circulatory conditions up close has made this cause very personal to me. That’s why I’m hoping to raise money for the British Heart Foundation, who fund vital research that saves and improves lives every day.
If you’re able to donate, I would be very grateful. Every contribution really does make a difference to life saving research.
And if you can’t donate, sharing this page would mean a lot too.
Thank you so much for your support ❤️
