Story
As we're both turning 40 within a year of each other, we've decided to take on a big challenge. We both love cycling and have undertaken some multi day trips before, so LEJOG seemed like a good idea (famous last words).
Our Daughter Daisy was born with a cleft lip, so we've seen first hand the support and care CLAPA helps to provide. As with all charities, It's becoming more and more underfunded in recent times, so we've chosen to raise awareness of their cause and hopefully generate some funds for them along the way! See below for more information, any donations greatly received. DM & LC 🚴🏻🚴🏻♀️
CLAPA is the national UK charity supporting people affected by cleft lip and palate. We provide specialist feeding equipment, trusted information, one‑to‑one and online support, youth services, and community events, while raising awareness and championing better cleft care for all
Three babies are born with a cleft lip and/or palate every day in the UK, and they face a 20-year treatment pathway which can continue well into adulthood.
We receive no NHS or government funding and we rely on donations to continue our vital work.
