In March 2024, my dad, Mick Handley, was diagnosed with a brain tumour which turned out to be grade 4 and incurable. After living with this disease for 13 months, he was taken to St Catherine's on 10th April 2025 and passed away 9 days later on 19th April 2025.

Whilst at St Catherine's, my dad was treated with so much respect and dignity. They made sure he was comfortable and had everything he needed, including the odd whisky and coke and his favourite shows on netflix. Along side caring for my dad, the incredible staff supported us, as a family, with care and compassion. They offered us support and comfort as well as offering a listening ear during the most difficult time of our lives.

The moonlight and memories walk this year is on my dad's birthday so it was without a doubt that I would be doing it this year!!
