My name is Louise , and I am raising funds to support the Barnsley Hospital Charity Breast Care Appeal.

This cause became incredibly close to my heart earlier this year, when someone very close to me was diagnosed with breast cancer. In that terrifying moment, the world stopped. But within days, we were met with the incredible, compassionate, and expert care of the staff at Barnsley Hospital’s Breast Unit.

From the very first appointment, the nurses and doctors—specifically Kate (Breast Unit Nurse), who understands this journey personally, and the wider specialist team—made us feel safe, supported, and hopeful.

Why We Are Raising Money

The Breast Unit at Barnsley Hospital sees over 7,300 patients every year, and approximately 250 of those are diagnosed with breast cancer. While the care is top-tier, the unit urgently needs to be transformed to create a more modern, comfortable, and state-of-the-art space for patients at their most vulnerable time.

Our goal is to support the £250,000 target to fund:

A dedicated, enhanced environment for consultations and biopsies.

Specialised equipment to ensure faster diagnostics and better outcomes.

More comfort for patients during ongoing treatments.
