Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just giving page.
In 2022 I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. After months of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and a mastectomy, I was finally cancer free. Since then I have pushed myself and setting myself personal goals.
This June I have set myself a challenge to complete the Swansea half marathon to raise money for the amazing National Autistic Society Swansea.
This organisation work tirelessly day after day to organise events and activities for children and their families. The team of unpaid volunteers rely on charity donations to make it possible for these events to go ahead. NAS Swansea are an "extended family". They provide a voice to the children, a safe place where there is no judgement, a hug or just smile to a child that maybe going through a difficult day. NAS Swansea team do not realise what difference they really make to each and every child as well as supporting families too.
NAS Swansea have been an amazing support to me and my son Leon. They are always on hand to give advice or to provide a place where I can vent my concerns. As many parents know just by having someone to listen to you, makes everything so much better.
This marathon will be a challenge but it is nothing compared to the challenges often faced by some children on a day to day basis. This is my way of saying thank you to the team at NAS Swansea.
