Team Fundraiser for Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre Benevolent Fund and Royal Hospital Chelsea

130 mile non-stop trek from DMRC Stanford Hall to Royal Hospital Chelsea · 5 February 2024
A team of six Service persons (Lou James, Mark Reed, Alma Attree, Nephi Attree, Pete Shield and Rachael Allen) will embark on a journey on 05 Feb 2024, starting from Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre, Stanford Hall. Our goal is to walk the entire 130-mile stretch along the canal, with brief stops only for food and comfort breaks until we reach the Royal Hospital Chelsea and the Chelsea Pensioners. Throughout this challenge, we will be dressed in combat trousers and boots, relying on Army rations to meet our calorie needs. Each team member will carry their personal kit for the journey."
The Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre Benevolent Fund is a volunteer-run charity that provides funding to support holistic, occupational, and social integration opportunities for serving Soldier, Sailor or Aviator patients at DMRC Stanford Hall, and assist with the transition to civilian life or back to their military unit
Some 300 army veterans live at the Royal Hospital today, including those who have served in Korea, the Falkland Islands, Cyprus, Northern Ireland, and World War II. Others may not have served in campaigns, but all understand what it means to be a soldier and the potential sacrifice that it entails. They have served their country and now its out turn to serve them.
We would be most grateful if you are able to donate to these worthy causes. Progress will be uploaded along the way
