Story
I was diagnosed with breast cancer, aged 32, and a mum to a 1 year old, and I was incredibly fortunate to have caught the disease early enough for it to be treatable. Therefore I know the importance of young women and men knowing how to look for signs of breast cancer and having the courage to seek help if they notice something unusual. CoppaFeel are a brilliant UK charity who help raise awareness for breast cancer. So, it's time for me to give myself another challenge and raise some money for CoppaFeel. I am not a natural long-distance runner, so I suspect this will be hard, but I will train and try my best!
CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and we’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest.
We educate people on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests regularly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves. We do this because when diagnosed early and accurately, breast cancer treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection truly can save lives.
