Story
In May, I will be walking 100 miles to raise money for the PSP Association, a charity that is very close to my heart.
I had originally planned to take part in the Edinburgh Half Marathon this year, but due to ongoing health issues and the reality of balancing work, family life, and supporting my mum and dad, I had to make the difficult decision to withdraw.
I felt really disappointed in myself and like I had let people down, especially my dad. But I still wanted to do something meaningful.
My dad has been diagnosed with PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy), a rare and heartbreaking condition, and I want to do what I can to support him and help raise awareness and funds for research.
So instead of one race, I’m setting myself a personal challenge — to walk 100 miles throughout May.
This won’t always be easy, but I am determined to complete it. Some days I’ll be walking with my dog Bella, other days I’ll be pushing myself to get the miles in wherever I can.
Every mile I walk is for my dad and for everyone affected by PSP.
If you can, please donate — every penny truly makes a difference.
Thank you so much for your support ❤️
PSPA is the only UK charity dedicated to creating a better future for everyone affected by Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and Corticobasal Degeneration.
We will do this by: Providing information and support to enable families living with PSP & CBD to live their best possible lives; Improving the quality of life for people living with the condition via research and awareness raising; Putting the voice of the PSP & CBD community at the heart of what we do.
