Hedges, Habitats and Health project, 28 January 2024

Story

Since the inception of Ringwood Action for Climate Emergency (RACE against time) I have been involved in the trees aspect of the charity. For many years I have been working with David Lloyd Ringwood to support more sustainable action from the club with the goal to initially plant 1500 trees to form a hedge along the boarder; this hedge will have a number of functions from providing a wildlife corridor, improving air quality, security, wind break, increase biodiversity and much more.

We are looking to split the project into a number of phases with the first stage being a club planting morning on 28th January 2024.

To enable this project to happen we are looking for the members to support the project by donating as much as you are able to, the more we raise the more we can do so please look out for us in the foyer and come along on Thursday 23rd November at 7pm to find out more and get involved in the future of the club.

About the charity

To help the Ringwood area to address climate change and biodiversity by planting trees, encouraging reuse, up-cycling, better recycling and the use of alternatives to fossils fuel. We try to bring people together so that we can learn from each other and take action both individually and together.
