Until recently I hadn't heard of The Lily Foundation or Mitochondrial Disease but hearing of this awful disease that affects so many children and their families really touched me. What has been created in The Lily Foundation is so important for the families who are affected. I wanted to do something to help so having run for the charity in October at the Royal Parks Half it's now time to take on my first Marathon! Please help me raise much needed funds for this wonderful charity. Some more information below if this is new to you also.....

The Lily Foundation was founded in Lily's memory, having lost her battle to Mitochondrial Disease at just eight months old. The charity aims to give hope, answers and support to the many other children and families that face the challenges of this disease today.

Did you know every twenty minutes a child is born who will develop Mitochondrial Disease by the age of 16! There is no cure for this disease which is for many, debilitating and life limiting.
