Story
This year on the 31st of May I will be taking part in the great Manchester run (half marathon) to help raise awareness and money for PoTs UK.
Not sure what PoTs is? You probably don't as there limited research into it. Please see the link below:
The PoTs UK charity is close to my heart as this condition effects my partner of six years, Jen. Jen was once a keen runner completing her own races and was hoping to run marathons in the future. Over the last couple of years Jen has been diagnosed with PoTs which is a debilitating condition and effects her day to day life. She is now unable to work, drive, travel, and do many social activities.
From going to the gym daily and running laps around me at park run to now needing a wheelchair to leave the house, I think you can agree PoTs really does change lives. Despite it being so debilitating and effecting so many people particularly since Covid-19, there is a lack of awareness and funding for support within the NHS. Jen has experienced this firsthand having to see a private cardiologist to access private treatment that has only had mild effects.
There is no cure for PoTs and with limited research it is hard to find treatment. Donating will help fund research and raise awareness to help people help get the support they need!
