Story

For those of you who don’t know me personally, I want to share a bit of my story.
Until I was 12 years old, I experienced food insecurity daily. Growing up in the Philippines with my brothers and sisters, we never knew when or where our next meal would come from. I spent much of my childhood searching for food, survival was a daily struggle.
When I moved to America in 1992, I tasted my first apple. I’ll never forget that moment. It was simple, but life changing. Since then, I’ve been deeply passionate about helping others especially those who, like my younger self, don’t know when they’ll eat next.
As many of you also know, I’m passionate about running and building community. That’s why I’m combining these two passions by running in the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend with Team Second Harvest to raise money to fight hunger in our community.
I’m reaching out to ask for your support. Every dollar count, truly.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida can turn just $10 into 40 meals for children, families, and seniors in need. I’ve seen this impact firsthand through volunteering both at their facility and out in the community.
Here in Central Florida, 1 in 8 people is food insecure—and 1 in 5 children may go to bed hungry tonight. That’s why I’ve committed to fundraising to help put food on the table for those who need it most.
But I can’t do it alone. Will you help me reach my goal?
Together, we can make a real, tangible difference, one meal, one dollar, one step at a time.
Thank you so much for your support, from the bottom of my heart.
