Over Saturday 23rd, Sunday 24th and Monday 25th August 2025 Family Lowy will be undertaking a run/walk of around 45 miles to honour my Aunt, Catherine Aston.

She was treated for cancer at the Cheltenham Oncology centre and lived at West End near Wickwar in Gloucestershire, but sadly died of bowel cancer on 30th December 2023. Our trek will take place between these two points, taking in a section of the Cotswold Way Trail.

This event is for the Rotary Big Space Appeal, to raise funds to upgrade the current facilities at Cheltenham. At the moment, patients are told they have cancer in a small, windowless office and there is little or no privacy for families and patients visiting for advice and talking, even confidentially, with staff in the unit. We are trying to raise money to upgrade the facilities, and thus change the experience to make it a little more bearable for those unfortunate enough to need to use the oncology unit.

It is not a race and there will be running and walking to suit the hilly terrain of the Cotswold Way and the mixed abilities of participants.
