24 Hour Cycleathon · 15 May 2025

Founded in 1976 by children’s author Michael Morpurgo and his wife Clare, our three farms welcome 3000 children and young people each year. As a registered charity we believe every young person, regardless of background, deserves an opportunity to take home the benefits of being farmers for a week.

Story

For the next two years, Loxley Solicitors have partnered with Farms for City Children to raise funds and awareness for the charity and their cause.

As part of this fundraising, the first event in the Loxley Charity Calendar is the 24 hour cyclathon. In this timeframe, we will be cycling between all three of the Farms for City Children's farms which are located around the UK.

The Farms for City Children charity exists to remove the barriers that prevent children and young people having meaningful access to the natural world. By being a farmer for a week, children experience the physical and mental health benefits of being in the countryside and they grow in courage, compassion and curiosity. Your support can enable more 8–18 year olds from underserved areas of the UK to visit our three farms in Devon, Gloucester or Pembrokeshire, strengthening their connections to food, farming and nature.
