Every year, more than 100,000 people are diagnosed with lymphoma - that means every five minutes, someone in the United States receives a lymphoma diagnosis. Marcia Horowitz of Linden , NJ was diagnosed with B-Cell Lymphoma at the young age of 27. As a devoted wife, loving mother and compassionate nurse she tirelessly fought through endless rounds of treatment all while maintaining a full-time nursing career and sense of normalcy at home for her 8 year-old son. Her compassion for others and selfless attitude toward the world would make anyone question the reason certain individuals are forced down this path. But her unwavering commitment to all things true remained steadfast and never once used the word "quit" or "I can't".  Instead, Marcia would wake up everyday, put her best foot forward, and gave 100% to overcome the challenge she was dealt. Unfortunately, and to the devastation of so many, Marcia Horowitz passed at the age of 32 leaving behind her husband, son, family and so many more who's lives she had positively impacted. The LRF Triathlon team was created to not only honor the relentless dedication that Marcia demonstrated toward life but to spread awareness to those currently suffering and to shed light on the need for Lymphoma research funding. Today, more than one million people are currently living with this form of blood cancer. These are friends, family members, colleagues, and the Marcia's of the world that need our help. Our 2023 goal is two-fold. First and foremost, we hope to raise $20,000 for the Lymphoma Research Foundation through our passion for endurance sports as a constant reminder of the relentless fight so many deal with on a daily basis battling this unwavering cancer.  This leads us to our second goal of taking the Lymphoma Research Foundation to the world stage in Kona, HI at the Ironman World Championships. This would be the ultimate opportunity to spread awareness on an international stage.We hope you will follow us on our journey, cheer us on, and donate to the cause if possible.
