“Create a Secondary Education Programme for students with Down Syndrome”

on 7 September 2026

Down Syndrome UK (DSUK) is a national charity passionate about empowering parents and professionals to improve the lives of those with Down syndrome and their families in the UK.

Story

There is no national education programme providing training, ongoing support and resources to enable students with Down syndrome to flourish in their chosen secondary school.

LTS Global Solutions is committed to raising the funds to make this happen and appreciate your support.

Dave (Managing Director of LTS) and Rachel (HR & Comms at LTS) have a 10 year old daughter with Down syndrome, and advise, 'up to this point Ella has had a wonderful and inclusive experience at mainstream primary school due to school embracing the knowledge and support that has been provided. However, having visited mainstream secondary schools, in advance of making the choice for 2026, this level of knowledge and support is not available and on occasion we have been met with a look of fear. We want Ella to be able to flourish and have the same quality of education at mainstream secondary school alongside her older brother Connor.

This initiative is very close to our hearts, but Ella is one of thousands who would be positively impacted by this UK wide education programme. We really want to be able to give something back, and by partnering with DSUK on this initiative we can work towards ensuring quality education and support for not only children with Down syndrome but their teachers, families and indeed their future work colleagues – we have high expectations!'

With the funds raised, DSUK will develop a Secondary Education Programme in 2025, launching in 2026. This initiative will offer training, resources, and ongoing support to secondary schools nationwide, helping to unlock the potential of every learner with Down syndrome.
