Story
I’m doing the Highland Fling Bungee Jump to raise money to provide a hospital in need with a cuddle cot in my wee brother Jude’s name 🪽
Jude devastatingly died shortly after he was born on the 28th of December 2024, and the cuddle cot meant my family could spend precious extra time with him and make memories together. I want to help give another family that same opportunity.
We’ve already raised £1,150 thanks to everyone who kindly donated towards our cause at my great grandfathers funeral, so we need another £700 to reach our target of £1,850. If you could sponsor me, no matter how much, I’d be really grateful. Every penny will help us get a cuddle cot donated in Jude’s name.
A cuddle cot gives bereaved parents the gift of time — allowing them to spend days rather than hours with their baby, saying goodbye, making memories and having those precious moments together.
The Luca Foundation works to make sure cuddle cots are available across the UK in maternity units, NICUs and paediatric wards. They don’t pay salaries from the charity, so the money raised goes directly towards providing this vital equipment.
Please help me reach my target and help another family have the same time with their baby that my family was so lucky to have with Jude🪽
Thank you to everyone who sponsors me, shares my post or supports me in any way.
**Update**
I honestly cannot believe it. Our original target was £1,850 for one Cuddle Cot, My fundraiser has now reached an incredible £5,760! 🥹 This means we’ve now raised enough to provide three Cuddle Cots to hospitals in need, with the remaining funds also helping towards the repair and maintenance of existing Cuddle Cots. I honestly never imagined the fundraiser would grow to this extent!
As my fundraiser alone has now raised enough to provide the Cuddle Cots, my family have decided to donate the money raised at my great-grandfather’s funeral to the NICU at Ninewells instead. A total of exactly £1,141.50 was raised, and we feel incredibly grateful that not only are we able to provide Cuddle Cots, but we’re also now able to give something back to the unit that cared for Jude during his short little life, and who continued to care for my family long after. We’ll forever be thankful to the wonderful nurses and team there 🩵
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart 🩵
Luca
