Story
On the 12th of October I’m completing a 50km ultra marathon to raise money for Addisons disease!
Addisons disease is an extremely rare chronic condition in which your adrenal glands don’t operate at their normal functioning levels, leading to a lack of cortisol and aldosterone. The Addison’s Disease Self-Help Group (ADSHG) support everyone affected by Addison’s disease and adrenal insufficiency.
My Mum was diagnosed with this extremely rare condition in 2020 and as a son who will do anything for adrenaline this often doesn’t align. (Mum’s first signs of this disease was her nearly being sent into a crisis watching me do a 25m cliff jump while we were in Croatia).
This charity was invaluable when Mum first got diagnosed and they continue to provide support and advice for a better medical understanding and management of living with Addisons disease. Additionally they help fund vital research to help improve the experience of those living with it.
Any donations will be gratefully accepted and will go a long way in helping this charity to continue support those who need it most.
