With a focus on patient-centred care, we combine state-of-the art-equipment, novel clinical trials, passionate staff and the most modern cancer research with compassion and effective psychological support so that our patients and their loved ones can feel fully supported throughout their cancer journey. We do this because we know each person and every cancer is unique - we don’t want to treat them all the same. Guy’s is the leading UK provider of care and treatment for people with cancer and we’re dedicated to helping patients navigate what can be the most challenging time of their lives. With all our services located under one roof within our bright and welcoming Cancer Centre, we’re able to offer seamless care every step of the way, from diagnosis, through treatment, and after, in an environment that doesn’t feel like a traditional hospital. We know that the landscape of cancer is changing. More people are being affected, but we’re at an exciting point in time when promising new therapies are being developed and research breakthroughs are waiting to be made. It’s crucial that we continue to fund the innovative research, treatment and exceptional care that takes place at Guy’s to ensure we keep going above and beyond what the NHS alone can provide as we help more people cope with and survive cancer.

THE CHALLENGE:

Join us on our mission to break a Guinness World Record by embarking on a journey to visit EIGHT countries in a cutting-edge electric car, the LUCID Air, which will only be charged ONCE for the entire journey.

Umit Sabanci, Ian Joynson, and Misha Nahorny are taking on this challenge to raise funds for Guy's Cancer Charity, a cause close to our hearts, and to promote green energy by opting for an electric car as their mode of transportation.

THE JOURNEY:

On 22nd June 2024, we will start our 640km (397 miles) long journey in Europe.

THE CAR (EV) :

In a significant leap forward for sustainable transportation, American EV manufacturer LUCID has unveiled a groundbreaking innovation that is set to revolutionise the electric car sector. The company's latest creation, "Lucid Air", boasts an impressive driving range of up to 520 miles on a single-charge battery, marking a monumental milestone in eco-friendly mobility.

With climate change becoming an increasingly pressing issue, developing high-performance electric cars like Lucid's demonstrates the viability of sustainable transportation.

Lucid's remarkable achievement of developing an electric car with a 520-mile driving range is a technological feat and a beacon of hope for a more sustainable future.
