Story
The story
Palestinian music is facing systematic erasure. Musicians have lost instruments, homes, networks and sometimes families. Cultural infrastructure built over decades has been destroyed. Living conditions make creating music a luxury many can't afford.
Yet through music, Palestinians assert their presence and resilience. They process trauma, maintain identity, resist erasure and imagine futures that feel impossible right now.
Now we have an extraordinary opportunity. Against all odds, we’ve secured a UK working visa for our Palestinian colleague Ahmed and his family. You will remember Ahmed's work for children dealing with war and PTSD in Gaza. Those stages and community centres there are now rubble. But hope is not gone. This is our chance to transform PMX from a volunteer-run initiative into something that can genuinely sustain Palestinian music for the long term.
In the UK, Egypt and Palestine, we can transform the lives of talented musicians through training, connections and opportunity. We can support the survival of culture, refusing to let this rich heritage and rich future be destroyed. The talent and opportunity are real. With Ahmed, we have the dedicated expertise to realise this important work.
The global music industry is ready to support this work and talent. What’s missing — the only thing missing — is your support to make it happen.
Thank you.
