Story
In April 2027, I’ll be taking on the London Marathon again.
Running it last year was one of the best experiences of my life. Crossing that finish line after months of training is something I’ll never forget.
This year, though, I’m running for a much bigger reason.
I’m running for Teddy.
In January 2024, Teddy was diagnosed with mitochondrial disease, a rare genetic condition that affects the body’s ability to produce energy. To the doctors’ knowledge, he’s 1 of just 55 people in the world known to have this condition, and currently the only known case in the UK. Because it’s so rare, research is limited and, at the moment, there’s no cure.
I’ve done the London Marathon before, so I know what’s ahead of me. The early mornings, the long training runs, the sore legs, the sacrifices, and the days when giving up feels like the easier option.
But then I think about Teddy.
I chose to run this marathon.
He didn’t choose the challenges he faces every single day.
My race lasts one day.
His doesn’t.
Every mile I run will be for Teddy, and for every child and family living with mitochondrial disease.
If you’re able to support me, no matter how big or small the donation, I’d be incredibly grateful. Every donation helps raise awareness and supports research into this devastating condition. Let’s raise as much money as we can 🤞🏻
Thank you for being part of this journey.
Every step is for Teddy. ❤️ LETS GO!!
