Story
At the end of August, Mark and I will be taking on the challenge of climbing Snowdon to raise money for the Mouth Cancer Foundation.
My dad has spent his entire career as a maxillofacial surgeon, dedicating his working life to treating patients with mouth cancer. Growing up, I saw first-hand the impact this disease has on individuals and families, and the importance of early diagnosis, treatment and ongoing support.
The Mouth Cancer Foundation provides invaluable support for people living with mouth cancer, throat cancer and other head and neck cancers. They offer information, guidance and reassurance not only for patients, but also for the families, friends and carers who support them through some incredibly difficult times. They also work tirelessly to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of mouth cancer because earlier detection can save lives.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help the Foundation continue this vital work. If you’re able to support us, we’d be incredibly grateful. And if you can’t donate, simply taking a moment to learn the signs of mouth cancer, sharing this page, or reminding someone to check anything unusual in their mouth that doesn’t heal after three weeks could make more of a difference than you realise.
Thank you so much for your support. We’ll be thinking of everyone affected by mouth cancer with every step we take up Snowdon.
