Part of team cycling 11,000 KM · 12 September 2023

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

I am part of a fundraising initiative that the Celent (part of Oliver Wyman my Dad's company) team is currently running in the UK and the US for Parkinson’s disease research and support. Learn more here: https://www.justgiving.com/team/Cycle-London-Chicago?invite=true

Over ~10 million people globally live with Parkinson's, making it the fastest growing neurological condition in the world and there is currently no cure.

Celent has chosen to support this cause because two of our colleagues, Christian Bower (My Dad - active today in OW London) and Bart Nater (now on disability support in the US), have Parkinson’s. Being such a small team, having two colleagues affected with the condition early in life brings home the fact that none of us can take our health and wellbeing for granted.

Bikeathon

The Celent team (with friends of Christian and Bart) is cycling the distance from London to Chicago to raise money for research funding and living support. We’re currently just over 10% of the way there. I am participing too in the bikeathon by contributing to our 4,000-mile target and then joining a 5km cycle in Hyde Park on 12th September at 12pm.
