Story
This years North Uist Agricultural Shows Annual Tractor Rally on the 20th May is supporting the Uist branch of Lucky2BHere. All money raised will be used for the maintenance of current community defibrillators from Berneray to Eriskay, and any additional money raised will be put towards the purchase of new defibrillator packages. There are currently 28 Lucky2BHere community defibrillators from Berneray to Eriskay, with 12 on North Uist, 5 on Benbecula and 11 on South Uist. Some of these defibrillators are very generously maintained by loclocal businesses or community groups, however there are still a number of them that are fully dependent on money raised by the Uist branch of Lucky2BHere. These costs are around £300 every 4 years for replacement batteries, £70 every 2 years for replacement pads and around £600 for the replacement of damaged cabinets whenever required. A new defibrillator package currently costs £1750, and is likelyto rise to £2000. Some of the Tractor drivers will also have sponsorship forms and there will be a raffle on the day of the run.
We provide Defibrillators and other life saving equipment and deliver Emergency Life Support training in schools and throughout the community.
