Hiking Against Homelessness · 8 June 2024 ·

Only A Pavement Away's Third Annual Hiking Against Homelessness Event takes place in the Peak District on 8th June. The brainchild of Georgia Mangham - daughter of Greg - has seen so many people interested that we couldn't wait to plan another one!

Story

This June, Lou, Emma, Mary, Carla, Emily and Kerttu will take on a 17km hike across the most challenging parts of the Peak District in aid of raising money for the great causes supported by Only A Pavement Away.

To date team members at Lucky Saint have raised over £10k for the amazing team at Only a Pavement Away - a charity set up to help create jobs for homeless people and ex-offenders in Hospitality.

And now, it’s our turn. The weekend kicks off with a Royal Marine led HIIT workout and then we'll be heading off to tackle some of the Peak District’s most famous climbs including Kinder Scout and Jacob's Ladder.

Why is supporting Only a Pavement Away so important?

- Over the next six years it is estimated that there will be 1.3 million vacancies in UK hospitality.

- At the same time, the number of people who are facing, or are at risk of becoming homeless, is rising.

- 450 people have been placed into employment to date by Only A Pavement Away, adding £12.8 million to the UK economy through reduced government support, financial independence, and increased household expenditure.

Thanks so much for your support, from Lou, Emma, Mary, Carla, Emily and Kerttu!
