Story
The Alsama Project is an NGO based in the Shatila refugee camp in Lebanon. They have set up secondary education centres, sports hubs and social enterprises in areas of the Middle East affected by conflict. The projects are run for – and, in large part, run by – refugee communities.
Since 2020, 642 students have been taken from illiterate to literate (Arabic, English, Mathematics). For many, education has given them opportunities and kept young people out of child labour, crime, early marriage & teen pregnancy, or abruptly ended education.
Any donations made will go directly to supporting the Alsama Project.
