It is with great sadness to announce that Brian sadly passed away on Sunday 2nd July 2023, it truly was heartbreaking for us all and we miss him incredibly.
I am asking for donations to The Princess Alice Hospice in memory of my dad for two reasons – to enable the Princess Alice Hospice to provide the same fantastic care and support for others facing the same devastating situation as our family, and to recognise his incredible strength and positivity in dealing with his cancer diagnosis right from the start, 6 years ago.
Dad endured numerous rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy with unfailing good humour and strength despite the horrible side effects and recovering from sepsis at Christmas. He maintained a “life is normal” attitude, working, travelling and of course watching Spurs while enjoying time with his family. He was given time off from his bowel cancer treatment, but sadly just three weeks before we lost him, he was diagnosed with LMD, an aggressive and untreatable spread of the cancer to his spine and brain. Despite this horrendous news, as usual he was fearless and more concerned for others than for himself. It was such a shock to us all and things unfortunately deteriorated so fast we could barely get our heads around it.
My dad's one wish was that did not want to pass away at home, and we were so lucky that Princess Alice Hospice was able to care for him - and us - in dad's last few days. We are so grateful for the support they provided. The hospice depends on donations to continue to deliver their brilliant services – it deserves our support in return. Please give as generously as you can in memory of my dad and for others in the same situation.
