Story
In a few months, I’ll be doing something that absolutely terrifies me… jumping out of a plane for charity.
I’m taking part in a charity skydive for North Staffs Mind, alongside my amazing workplace, Aspire Housing, to help raise money for a cause that is incredibly close to my heart.
Mental health is something I have struggled with for most of my life. There have been times where things have felt overwhelming, and I know how important it is to have support, understanding and somewhere to turn when you’re struggling. Charities like North Staffs Mind provide vital help for people going through some of the hardest moments in their lives.
That’s why this means so much to me.
Anyone who knows me will also know that I am absolutely terrified of heights, so this challenge is completely outside my comfort zone. The thought of jumping out of a plane is honestly terrifying… but it feels like a small thing to do if it helps raise money and awareness for mental health support.
To make it even more nerve-wracking, I’ll be doing this just four weeks before my wedding, and the airfield is only 15 minutes away from my wedding venue! But if facing this fear helps even one person get the support they need, it will be worth it.
Mental health affects so many people, often silently. No one should feel like they have to face it alone.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, it would mean so much to me and will help North Staffs Mind continue supporting people who really need it.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for supporting such an important cause.
